Reduce Junk Mail-Save a Tree

I can't stand getting junk mail. I go to the mailbox and there's a pile of magazines, catalog's, presorted mail envelopes and postcards trying to get me to be an envelope stuffer. It's annoying and fills up my recycle bin very quickly. Why do I get this stuff? Simple, my name and address is sold to a direct seller lists for some crazy figure of $.30 or less. This happens when I sign up to win something or fill out a survey and that person sells may name and address. Not cool. Junk mail is responsible for killing 100 million trees each year.

Luckily there is something we all can do. Green Dimes is an organization that helps stop junk mail. I signed up for a junk mail reduction kit for $15 and added all the members of family on the list for a $1. The junk mail didn't stop immediately but over time it has been greatly reduced. If I get mail I don't want I email or call them. It's simple and very costly. Matt Damon is a huge supporter of this organization and that's how I heard about Green Dimes when he was a guest star on Oprah. When you buy a junk mail reduction kit they plant 10 trees! Think of all the trees you are saving and all the mail you won't get for such a low cost. An excellent gift idea! Now that I've tried this I can recommend it with two thumbs up.
