Green cleaning product for the best idea! Green & Clean Mom needs your help!
In less than two weeks, my husband and I are going on a mini vacation. It’s actually a trip for his business but we’re making it a little time away together. It’s a much needed break from the daily grind. Our two children will be staying with their godparents. We are so grateful for their help. Actually, were indebted and someday we will be watching their children (three and probably four) as a pay back. The children will be extremely well taken care of and have a blast but that doesn’t put my worries aside. Typical mommy worries. Will they cry for me, miss me, be sad, think I’m not coming back, eat well and sleep well? I worry that they will get hurt and I’m not there to kiss their boo-boo or cuddle them if they have a bad dream. It’s a rather bad feeling to have as a parent. Then, I reassure myself that they will be busy and our best friends, who love them as their own, will do exactly what we would do. I tell myself I need this break and time with my husband to reconnect and recharge. It will help to make me a better mommy when I return.
My dear friend, Amber, will need to be recharged when I return! Bless her heart! I am so grateful to have her and want to show her and her husband how much we appreciate them taking care of our children. Trusting someone to watch your children is a big deal. It’s a lot of responsibility and work on their part. What do I do for them or give them as a gift of thanks? This is where I need your help! What would you want? Someday we’ll watch their children so that doesn’t count. It can't cost a fortune and has to be practical.
Help me by posting your ideas and I will pick one idea, by Friday, March 7th. Assuming that there is an idea I like, the winner will receive one of my favorite green cleaning products! It’s amazing and replaces a bleach or oxi-clean and treats just about any stain. I seriously love this stuff! When you post you need to make sure I have your first name and a way to contact you. You can always contact me with your idea at the left side of this blog, above my picture.

How about a quality hemp product, like a throw, from somewhere like Green Logic? I offer this suggestion as it's something I would love to recieve... practical, yet cosy, and of course 'green' ;)

Instead of giving them something that might eventually end up in a land fill, why not cook them a dinner or plan a picnic for their family. A nice meal that I don't have to cook is always a welcome treat.
I always enjoy getting something native to where someone is visiting. Bringing back locally made soap, lotion, beauty products, or even some produce that grows fresh in the area, if it can survive the trip home, would be awesome. I love buying local products in my area and it would be a treat to have local products bought in another area and shared with me.

I would probably appreciate Lisa's idea the most: a restaurant gift certificate. To take that thought one step further, you could give them "a night on the town." Treat them to dinner, a movie, fancy dessert, dancing, or whatever they like to do--and of course, offer to babysit their kids while they take advantage of your present!
You can't get more green than PLANTING a plant. I'd give a gift certificate to a local nursery where she could purchase a tree/shrub/perennial or even veggies to plant this spring!

Buy them some Carbon Offsets at terrapass.comor carbonfund.org. Attach a card to a nice tree that they can plant that says what you got them. You can't get greener than that! You didn't buy them any "stuff". And this gift will last for years to come....well at least the tree will. Jennifer, Sunny Southern California
This idea comes from a mom with a very heavy 8 month old...get them gift certificates for a massage or some kind of spa treatment. Oh, I would kill for something like that these days!
How about sending them out on a date (tickets to a show and lunch) and while they are out, cleaning their house and stocking the kitchen with fun snacks and food.
When I had friends watch our daughter, I gave them a gift card to the grocery store for 2 reasons... it was something they would use, and my daughter ate there :)
